The Bold Ones

I remember a time when I went through a period of
frustration. I was frustrated because I thought I had to
work hard to receive the promises of God, but my hard
work wasn’t producing what I thought it should. In the
middle of my holy frustration, I was seeing Christians die
all around me. I wanted to see people get well, thrive, and
prosper in life. Along with all of that, I dealt with feelings
of guilt and shame because of the religious traditions that
had been instilled in me. I knew that I had to stop being
hard on myself and trying to perform in order to gain right-standing
with God.
